Everything you need to know about participating in Challenges and Commits.

Last updated: December 2024

Service Nature

Accustom provides a Transformation Program Service. When you join, you pay a Fee that grants you access to our accountability platform, tracking tools, and community support.

  • Pledge Return: Upon successful completion, you receive a full cashback pledge return, effectively making the service free.
  • Bonus Reward: In challenges, non-achievers' fees form the Bonus Reward Pool, distributed as bonus rewards to Achievers.
  • 100% Skill-Based: All outcomes depend entirely on your verified actions—no element of chance.

1. General Rules

Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to participate.
  • One account per person. Multiple accounts are strictly prohibited.
  • You must have a valid payment method to pay fees.

Timezone Handling

  • All deadlines are calculated based on your local timezone as set in your profile.
  • Default deadline is midnight (11:59 PM) unless otherwise specified.
  • Commits allow custom deadline times (before, after, or between specific hours).

Account Integrity

  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • Keep your login credentials secure and do not share access.
  • Report any unauthorized access immediately to support.

2. Commits Rules

Creating a Commit

  • Define your commitment using our sentence-style form.
  • Choose your evidence type: Photo, Video Timelapse, Camera Only, Screenshot, or GitHub.
  • Select your reporting frequency: Daily, Weekly (X times per week), Monthly, or Once.
  • Set your deadline type: Midnight, Before a time, After a time, or Between times.
  • Choose your pledge destination (for non-completion): Charity or ACCUSTOM.
  • Set your pledge per check-in.

Pledge Calculation

Your total pledge is calculated as:

Total Pledge = Pledge per Check-In × Number of Check-Ins

Example: $5/day × 21 days = $105 total pledge

Strictness Levels

Lenient: More flexibility in evidence acceptance
Reasonable: Standard verification (default)
Strict: Rigorous evidence requirements
No Grace: Zero tolerance for missed check-ins

Check-In Requirements

  • Evidence must be submitted before your deadline each day/period.
  • Late check-ins are not accepted and count as missed.
  • Evidence must clearly demonstrate completion of your stated commitment.

What Happens If You Complete

Upon successful completion with all check-ins verified, you receive a full pledge return released from escrow to your wallet.

Pledge Destination (Non-Completion)

If you miss check-ins or fail verification, your pledge (or portion of it) goes to your chosen recipient:

💰 Deduction Calculation:

Each missed or failed check-in deducts your pledge per check-in amount from your total pledge return.

Example: If your pledge is $5/day and you miss 3 days, $15 is deducted and donated to your chosen recipient.

Charity: Donated to children's causes
ACCUSTOM: Supports platform development

Participation-Based Verification

Verification is participation-based, not performance-based. For example, in a running commitment, it doesn't matter if you run 500 meters or 10 kilometers—as long as you submit valid evidence of running, your day is marked as verified. There is no quantitative or qualitative advantage for doing more; simply completing and proving your activity is what counts.

Disputes & Support

  • You can start a dispute from the app or contact support anytime.
  • Disputes can be raised before, during, or within 7 days after your commitment period.
  • Our support team reviews all disputes and responds within 48 hours.

Cancellation Policy (Commits)

  • You may cancel and receive a full refund before your start date.
  • Once your challenge has started, the pledge is non-refundable.
  • Medical exceptions may be considered with documentation—contact support.

3. Challenges Rules

Joining a Program

  • Browse available programs and select one that matches your goals.
  • Pay your pledge (typically $20-$100) to join.
  • Your fee is held securely until the challenge concludes.
  • Programs run for 7-28 days typically.

Daily Check-In

  • Submit photo/video proof of your activity before midnight in your timezone.
  • Our moderators verify check-ins within 36 hours.
  • Invalid or unclear check-ins may be rejected.
  • Rejected check-ins count as missed days.

Grace Days System

  • Each challenge includes free Grace Days—the number depends on the challenge duration and category.
  • Grace Days can be manually applied before midnight, otherwise they are auto-applied at midnight.
  • You can purchase additional Grace Days during the challenge, but there is a limit on how many can be purchased.
  • Use them strategically—once depleted, the next miss means you become ineligible for a pledge return.

Eligibility Loss

  • You become ineligible for a pledge return when you run out of Grace Days and miss another check-in.
  • Eligibility loss is permanent for that program.
  • Your pledge becomes part of the Bonus Reward Pool for Achievers.
  • You cannot rejoin a program after becoming ineligible.

Settlement & Rewards

When the program ends, settlement works as follows:

  1. You receive a full return of your pledge if you completed the challenge.
  2. Non-achievers' pledges are collected into the Bonus Reward Pool.
  3. A platform fee is deducted from the Bonus Reward Pool. The fee is fixed before a challenge opens and shown on the challenge itself — it is 12% unless that challenge states otherwise, and it cannot change once you have joined.
  4. The remaining Bonus Reward Pool is distributed based on Grace Day consumption—participants who used fewer Grace Days receive a larger share of the bonus.

💡 Example:

10 people join at $50 each ($500 total). If 3 become ineligible ($150 retained), the 7 Achievers share the $150 bonus reward based on their Grace Day usage—those who used fewer Grace Days get more!

Participation-Based Verification

Verification is participation-based, not performance-based. For example, in a running challenge, it doesn't matter if you run 500 meters or 10 kilometers—as long as you submit valid evidence of running, your day is marked as verified. How much you did makes no difference to your bonus reward — a longer run does not earn a larger share. Consistency is the only thing that varies it, through the Grace Day rule above.

Disputes & Support

  • You can start a dispute from the app or contact support anytime.
  • Disputes can be raised before, during, or within 7 days after the challenge period.
  • Our support team reviews all disputes and responds within 48 hours.

Settlement Timeline

  • Settlement is processed within 7 days of challenge completion.
  • Moderator review ensures fair verification of all final check-ins.
  • Rewards are distributed in USDC to your wallet on the Base network.

Cancellation Policy (Challenges)

  • You may withdraw and receive a full refund before the program starts.
  • Once the challenge has started, the pledge is non-refundable.
  • Participants who become ineligible cannot receive a pledge return.
